CNIACC competences

mediation

An out-of-court dispute resolution procedure, involving the intervention of an impartial third party, with the aim of facilitating dialogue between the parties and promoting a settlement between them.

conciliation

A pre-trial/arbitration phase, involving a judge-arbitrator, designed to facilitate dialogue between the parties and reach a mutually agreed resolution to the dispute.

arbitration

It is a stage of the proceedings in which the trial takes place before an arbitrator, who is responsible for delivering a decision that is binding on the parties.

What is ADR

Alternative Dispute Resolution includes mediation, conciliation and arbitration.

There is a set of independent bodies (including consumer dispute arbitration centres such as CNIACC), with specialized personnel who, with neutrality and impartiality, help consumers and companies reach amicable solutions through mediation or conciliation.
